Build Your Own Football Darts Question

Choose what to measure, stack the filters, play the question you made.

Most football darts games hand you one question a day and that is that. This one hands you the controls. Choose one of six things to measure — goals, appearances, the two added together or subtracted from each other, transfer fees, or the number of games two named players shared — then stack as many filters as you like on top. The question assembles itself in a live preview as you go, tells you whether enough players fit to make a real game of it, and is playable immediately. Free, unlimited, no account.

Six ways to count down

Goals and appearances are the obvious two, and you can add them together or subtract one from the other for a question that rewards a very different kind of player. Beyond those: count down by transfer fees paid for players at a given club, or by the number of games two named footballers actually played together — a stat almost nothing else lets you build a game around.

Filters that stack

Seven of them, in any combination: competition, club, nationality, era, position, a trophy won, or another player they shared a pitch with. Arsenal goalkeepers. Brazilian forwards in Serie A. Champions League winners of the 2000s. Players who lined up alongside a name you choose. Stack two or three and the pool narrows from hundreds to a handful, which is where the countdown gets genuinely hard.

Accurate however obscure you make it

Every appearance, goal and fee comes from the same Transfermarkt records the daily uses, back to each competition’s founding season. A question you invent is as accurate as one we set — the preview simply tells you when you have narrowed it so far that there is no game left in it.

Play it against someone

Any question you build supports two to five players taking turns on one device, closest to a clean checkout wins. Set something obscure and hand the phone round — a question nobody has seen before makes a better contest than one everybody already played this morning.

How to play Build Your Own Football Darts

  1. Choose what you are measuring: goals, appearances, appearances + goals, appearances − goals, transfer fee, or games two players played together.
  2. Stack filters — competition, club, nationality, era, position, a trophy they won, or a player they lined up alongside. Or leave it wide open.
  3. Watch the question build in the preview beside you, which flags whether the pool is deep enough to play.
  4. Play it. Name footballers who fit, watch their real totals come off 501, and check out between 0 and −10.

Frequently asked questions

Is building your own question free?
Yes — completely. Build as many as you like and play them as often as you like, with no account, no sign-up and no subscription.
What can I choose?
Six stats — goals, appearances, appearances + goals, appearances − goals, transfer fee, or games two players played together — plus any combination of seven filters: competition, club, nationality, era, position, trophy won, and played-alongside.
How does a football darts question work?
You start on 501 and name footballers who fit the question. Each one’s real total for the chosen stat is deducted from your score. Check out by landing between 0 and −10, exactly like a darts finish — go below −10 and you bust.
Can I build a question about two specific players?
Yes. The "games together" stat counts how many matches two named footballers actually played in the same team, and you pick both.
Can I play a question I built with friends?
Yes — local multiplayer for two to five players taking turns on one device, with the closest clean checkout winning.
Is there a limit on how many I can play?
No. Built questions are unlimited — no daily cap and nothing to unlock.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every appearance, goal and transfer fee is sourced from Transfermarkt’s competition records, back to each league’s founding season.
